Sliding tiles: tap a letter tile in the same row or column as the empty slot to slide it. If there are tiles in between, the whole group slides together.
Striking words: when you see a word in a row or column, swipe across it to strike it. Words read in the direction of your swipe (no diagonals), and new letters take their place.
Against the clock: every word adds time — the longer the word, the more seconds. Each letter is worth points and long words multiply them. Each word counts once per game, and as you strike more words they need more letters. When time runs out, you can watch an optional ad to get 60 more seconds.
Phrases: find every word of the phrase shown below the board, in any order. There's no clock.
Definitions: read the definition and spell that word on the board. One of its letters comes marked; you can watch an optional ad to mark another.
Language: the game plays in English or Spanish (texts, letters, and dictionary). It follows your phone's language, and you can change it in Settings.
New to the game? The first time you play, a short tutorial walks you through it. You can replay it anytime from the menu.
Slide and Spell is free and shows ads (banner, interstitial, and optional rewarded ads) through Google AdMob to support development. See our Privacy Policy for details on what data is involved.

Slide and Spell does not currently offer any in-app purchases.
